In the heart of Pelourinho, the historic quarter of Salvador de Bahia UNESCO World Heritage site, Hotel Villa Bahia occupies two colonial mansions from the 17th and 18th centuries. This layering of uses, rare in Pelourinho, gives the establishment a historical density that is evident in its volumes, original wooden floors and preserved high ceilings.

Atmosphere

Villa Bahia does not play the role of a frozen museum hotel. The two interior courtyards structure circulation: one with its fountain, the other with a suspended garden and small pool. You will encounter guests enjoying coffee in the quiet, just metres from the bustle of Pelourinho's paved alleyways. The elevator, decorated with a tropical fresco, leads to the rooftop terrace, equipped with a shower, sun loungers and a solarium, with views over the roofs and steeples of the historic centre.

The décor follows this narrative thread without falling into pastiche.

Four-poster beds, solid wood parquet, high ceilings and warm tones predominate. Some rooms overlook the interior courtyards, others face the São Francisco Church or the roofs of Pelourinho. The three rooms on the top floor, more compact, have private terraces. A few units are equipped with bathtubs, an uncommon feature in Brazilian hospitality.
